Kornel Nemeth on podium!
(2010. Jul 27.)
Things pan out fine for Kornel Nemeth on the sixth round of the Canadian National Championship in Ste Julie.
Kornel already had a race here this year before the championship started, but by now some changes were made to the track. Even after the Amateur race on Saturday track got a little bit longer.
The bike was working really well under Kornel. The suspension settings turned out well, this proves that last week on the sandy and now on the hard packed track worked great.
The first race didn’t go as expected. After a bad start and many pass he finished 7th. But the second moto really made his day. After a superb start Kornel was racing 2nd til the chequered flag, and first time this season he stepped up on the overall podium.
„I was looking forward to this race, because it’s close to KTM Canada. I already had a race here and I also like to be here in Quebec. The track isn’t my favourite, a little like Teutschenthal, racing never went as well as I wanted.
In the first race my start was worse that I used to, I almost went down with my teammate Mike Brown in the straight. I tried to close up, but many passings took out a lot of me and by the end I got arm pump.
In the second race I had a good start, almost got the holeshot, I was 3rd then in the third corner I took the 2nd place. Adams was behind me, but from midrace he dropped behind a little bit, so I could race my own race.
Klatt was riding really well, I couldn’t catch him. Facciotti had a crash in the first moto, I hope he’s doing well.
I’m really happy about the second race, I’m getting closer to top5 and I’m really happy for this. The Gopher Dunes case is still in me and all the 4 riders are protesting against this penalty, I hope we can prove it and will get that 10 points.”
Next race will be this weekend in Moncton!
