Edmonton - Unlucky day

(2010. Jun 14.)

Kornel Nemeth is over the second round of the Canadian Championship in Edmonton. Luck must have been somewhere else, but definitely not on his side this time.

He eagerly awaited the races on the Castrol Raceway, hoping for a podium position at the end of the day. Unfortunately things didn’t go well, first a crash then a missing seat made it difficult for him.

The weather was good, the track was rough with many lines. On the free practice Kornel got the 6th place, on the time practice he clinched the 4th fastest laptime. Kornél’s first race started good, he was in top 10 after the start and just started to make his way up to the front, when he crashed hard in the first lap. Although he tried to finish the race, but the front wheel didn’t spin properly, so he had to pull out of the race.

In the second moto he went to the startgate as 40th because of the first race, but even so he had a good start and was riding around 7th place. The crash in the first race took out a lot of him and next to the track and the riders he had to fight with a headache what he had since the crash in the opening moto, and finished 13th without a seat. He finished 16th overall with 8 points.

Kornél: “I’m disappointed, that this weekend didn’t turn out the way I wanted, I really wanted to ride well and go to the startgate with my old confidence. I wanted to get a good result, because KTM is totally behind me, but unfortunately it didn’t happen. I don’t give up, I look forward to the next race!”

Next championship race will be this Sunday at Wild Rose MX Park, Calgary.
